Bhubaneswar: 108 Odisha Team bagged two awards at the annual review of National Health Mission ( NHM )PIP 2013 -14, organised by NRHM, Odisha for providing exemplary health service in the state. The team bagged the awards in two categories namely HPD (High Priority Districts) and non-HPD regions for the year 2013-14.
In a glittering ceremony held in Bhubaneswar today at Pal Heights, Sri Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Minister of Health & Family welfare and I & PR gave away trophies and certificates to Mr Sabyasachi Biswal, Project Head, 108, Odisha.
The state government and Ziqitza Health Care Ltd. (ZHL) had signed an agreement on 1st August, 2012 to provide free ambulance service in the state. A centralized Call Centre has been set-up in Bhubaneswar city. The centre is equipped with the latest technology and infrastructure with trained manpower. The ambulances are strategically located in the operational district in such a way that the entire district can be covered within minimum time. The entire service right from a person making a call to the necessary pre-hospital care in the ambulance and taking the victim to the nearest hospital is absolutely free to every citizen in Odisha .
Ziqitza Health Care Ltd., which is currently providing the services in Punjab, Maharshtra, Karnataka, Bihar and Kerala aims to be the top ambulance company in developing world. ZHL is now operating 420 ambulances across 30 districts of Odisha .
