Bhubaneswar: The Balasore Alloys Ltd (BAL) has donated Rs 11 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund towards disaster relief. BAL Managing Director Anil Sureka handed over the cheque when Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik conducted a review meeting at the company premises on Tuesday during his visit to the district in view of the current flood situation.
The company also extended help to the flood victims in the form of dry and cooked foods, garments, polythene sheets and other essential items.At the time of presenting of the cheque BAL Senior Vice-President Bhabani Burma and other executives Tilak Thappa, Asish Sarangi, Rajib Mohapatra and Sanjay Acharya were also present. The company under its CSR and peripheral development activities has made relief arrangements at 20 places of Remuna block and also dug tubewells at several villages like Balgopalpur, Rudrapur, Gourpur, Purosottampur, Rasalpur, Naraharipur, Pravasahi and Mukhura.
The local Birla Tyres (BT) too presented a cheque of Rs 11 lakh to the CM’s Relief Fund to RDC Arabinda Padhee. Company Chief Operational Officer Amitabh Chatterjee and other top executives Santosh Menon, RK Sharma, V Haridas and PK Panda were present on the occasion. The company also distributed dry food, garments and polythene to the affected people.
