Bhubaneswar: The State Office of Odisha Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (OUIDF) has been inaugurated by Chief Secretary Jugal Kishore Mohapatra in 4th floor of the Fortune Tower here in Bhubaneswar. Inaugurating the office, Mohapatra discussed with Development Commissioner and other members of the Board of Trusties, present at the time of inauguration about the functioning of the office and visited different sections inside the office spread over an area of 6000 sq feet.
Sources say, a Board of Trusties has been formed for management of the Odisha Urban Infrastructure
Development Fund under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sri Jugal Kishore Mohapatra. Development Commissioner I Srinivas, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Sri U.N. Behera, Vice Chairman BDA Sri Vishal Dev, Ex-Chairman IOCL Sri Sarthak Behuria and Charted Accountant Sri Rajiv Sekhar Sahoo are other members of the Board. As per the provisions another member will be nominated by Government of India. Available data shows that at present OUDIF has augmented a fund of around Rs.500 cr. with assistance from KFW of Germany.
Shishir Kumar Ratha, Special Secretary Housing & Urban Development and Chief Executive Officer of OUIDF said that this fund will be utilized for raising eco-friendly urban infrastructures like sewerage, solid waste management, slum rehabilitation, drainage of rain and storm water, development of cremation ground, slaughter houses etc.
The Administrative Officer OUIDF R.K. Mohanty along with other senior officers and dignitaries were present at the time of inauguration of the office premises. The inauguration of this type of office complex with modern gadgets and technologies has boosted the morale of the employees of H & UD department.
