Kaniha: NTPC Kaniha has always given importance to skill and vocational training for rural youths and women of nearby villages and has undertaking many initiatives in this regard. During this financial year 2013-2014, NTPC Kaniha organized skill development training programme in the area of tailoring stitching, dress designing and embroidery for women of Bijigol and Kamarei Group Panchayat. The basis objectives of all their initiatives are to promote self employment of rural women.
To support this cause further, NTPC Kaniha distributed sewing machines to 70 women of nearby villages. Smt. Rekha Gupta, President Vasudha Mahila Mandal Bhubaneswar and Smt. Neeta Fadnavis, President Tanvi Sangam, Talcher Kaniha and other members of Tanvi Sangam distributes certificate of and sewing machines to all participants in a programme organized at Recreation Cente, PTS, NTPC Kaniha. Sarpanchs of Bijigol & Kamarei Gram Panchayat were also present in the occasion.
All participants appreciated the initiatives undertaken by NTPC Kaniha as it promotes self employment and women empowerment among rural women.
