Bhubaneswar: During Elections Biju Janata Dal leaders felt Modi wave might affect party’s performance factors in Lok Sabha Polls. This was expressed by the Labour Minister Bijoyshree Routray on Saturday.
On the Modi factor, Routray said that though BJD leaders were confident of doing well, they still had a feeling that the Modi wave might affect the party’s performance in some Lok Sabha constituencies. However, the people of Odisha have reposed their overwhelming faith in Naveen Patnaik, he observed.
Routray stated that many BJD leaders are surprised over the party’s massive win. They had expected something around 110 seats in the Assembly as against the actual tally of 117, he said.
Routray was among the first BJD leaders who came to meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence a day after the announcement of the election results.
