Bhubaneswar: Bansidahr & Ila Panda Foundation, the CSR wing of IMFA announces the 10th edition of ‘Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship for Higher Education’ to six meritorious students for pursuing their respective degree courses.
Instituted in the year 2005, this scholarship was given to four meritorious students of Odisha till 2013 every year, two for wards of IMFA employees and two for wards of financial weaker section of society other than IMFA employees, qualifying for professional courses. As the scholarship scheme has been revised, from this year, the number of scholarship to non-employee category students has increased to four. Hence the total number has become six.
This year five students have been selected from non-employee category to have this prestigious scholarship, as only one student got eligible from IMFA employee category.
Under non-employee category, Asit Kumar Parida, son of Nabaghana Parida and Premalata Parida resident of Sudusudia, Dist: Mayurbhanj, Sanjeeb Kumar Patra son of Bairagi Patra & Minati Patra resident of Gudu, Dist: Balasore, Nirmal Chandra Das son of Paramananda Das & Nandini Das resident of Kantipal, Dist: Keonjhar, Mandakini Behera daughter of Dibakar Behera & Pravasini Behera resident of Chatrapur, Dist: Ganjam, Shubha Sandeep Mahanty son of Ramesh Chandra Mahanty & Harapriya Mahanty resident of Adacher, Dist: Nayagarh are selected to get the scholarship this year. Mr Parida and Mr Mohanty are pursuing their MBBS course at SCB Medical college, Cuttack, while Mr Patra, Mr Das and Ms Behera are doing B. Tech at NIT, Rourkela, VSSUT, Burla and IGIT, Sarang respectively.
Under employee category, Swagat Das, son of Pradipta Kumar Das, IMFA CDR has got this scholarship. He is pursuing his B. Tech in Metallurgy at IGIT, Saranga, Dhenkanal.
Each of the selected candidates will get 90 per cent of their total admission, tuition and hostel fees covering a maximum of Rs. 1,00,000/-per annum.
