A total of 104 cycles costing Rs 4160 each were distributed by Sri B.N.Jha, Chief General Manager, Lakhanpur Area in the presence of Sri Arjun Gupta, President, Arjun Gupta Girls High School, Sri Bikram Podh, Sradhakar Sahu, Mahendra Sahu,Sri Dharmendra Sahu, Sureswar Mirdha, Rutu Raj Sahu, Dri Dibakar Senapati, Head Master and MCL Senior Officials Sri Anwar Husain,GM(Op), Sri N. P.Agrawal,SO(E&M), Sri Sunil Sharma,Sri Mining Manager, Sri A K. Santoshi, Sr Personnel Manager, Sri D. Mehra,PRO , Sri Dilip Kumar Behera,Sr. Manager Personnel, Sri Aswini Ku Sukla, Sr. Officer Personnel, Sri Animesh Haldar, Asst. Manager inside the school compound.
Since this school was the only girls school in the area, the girls mostly belonging to SC/ST/OBC community from poor economic background had to walk a considerable distance to attend school. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Jha said that this was an initiative to promote Girls Education. He also said that MCL had earlier provided furniture in the form of Desks, Chairs, Almirah etc for the school and have plans to construct Boundary Wall along with Toilets & laboratory in the coming future.MCL Lakhanpur Area also donated a Laptop & a Projector costing Rs 1.07 lacs to Tulsi Sahu Madhyamik School, Tilia for audio-visual teaching methods. The government school had requested MCL lakhanpur Area for providing the above to enable the school towards becoming an e-enabled school.
