National Coordinator of National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) Dr AP Srivastava attended the event as the chief guest while OPSL Chairman Dr AK Behera, CIFA Director Dr P Jayasankar and NK Barik, PI, BPD were guests of honour.
During the interaction, incubates who are ready to link into BPD, shared their views and expectations of running the business and expected support from BPD, CIFA.
The total number of participants was 150, including 40 entrepreneurs, officials from ICAR institutes, OUAT and State universities, etc.
The BPD unit is established to support entrepreneurs across the country. It has initiated links to develop eight incubates on fish feed, plastic designs, aqua-tourism, aqua-school and promotion of producer’s organisation in the freshwater aquaculture sector.
The meeting was followed by an exhibition where several commercialised and commercialisable technologies from the CIFA were showcased.
Summing up the workshop, the CIFA Director and BPD Project Leader said the unit is intended to instil confidence among the entrepreneurs on technologies and handholding would be carried on till this goal is achieved and the entire value chain operation is completed.
