Bhubaneswar: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., the Only Honda in Indian 2Wheeler industry, was recognised for ‘Outstanding Initiatives in Road Safety & Traffic Training’ by Commerce & Transport (Transport) Department, Government of Odisha, here today.
The award was presented by Shri. Ramesh Chandra Majhi, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Government of Odisha in the presence of other dignitaries including Sh. Vivek Taluja, Regional Head – East region, HMSI, Sh. Sanjay Rastogi, Commissioner -cum-Secretary, Transport Dept., Sh. M. Akhaye, Transport Commissioner, at the closing ceremony of 26th National Road Safety week, held in Bhubaneswar.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yadvinder S Guleria, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, HMSI said, “Promoting road-safety is a continued commitment for Honda. The national traffic safety week is an excellent avenue to amplify our voice and reach-out to more and more people. We are delighted that our efforts to cultivate safe riding habits have been recognized by the society, and we deeply cherish this recognition of our efforts to make safe riding an everyday habit with full vigor and enthusiasm.”
Honda had inaugurated a Traffic Training Park each in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack last year amid much fanfare. Honda has been at the forefront of initiatives to train citizens on various aspects of road-safety; and inculcating safe-riding habits amongst populace. More than 17, 400 people have benefitted from the specially designed activities in a safe environment and the professional trainers at these traffic parks, since August 2014.
Honda had recently celebrated 26th National Road Safety week with its nation-wide road safety awareness initiatives to spread the message of road safety to people across India.
