Odisha Participates in Annapoorna -World of Food India 2014 at Mumbai

odmumbaiBhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha is participating in the 9th edition of Annapoorna -World of Food India from 24th to 26th September, 2014 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. This is an exclusive B2B platform organised by Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCl) and Koelnmesse for the development of Food Processing and Agri­ business sector in India.
More than 180 companies from across the globe, particularly Argentina, Afghanistan, Europe. Greece, Korea, Japan and USA are participating in this international fair. A large number of leading Companies / Firms in processed Foods & Beverages are participating in the fair.
To explore wider markets for the food products from Odisha, Directorate of Industries & State Mission Directorate, NMFP, the Directorate of Agriculture & Food Production, Directorate of Horticulture, Directorate of Fisheries, and Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) are participating in this event.
Amongst the products on display arc processed Spices, Organic spices, Pasta, Noodles, Cashew nuts, Sauces, Squash, Pickles, Honey, Tamarind concentrate, Mushroom powder and 400 primitive registered varieties of paddy grown in the State. Other products like Processed Gherkins, Paddy straw Mushroom, Maize, Moong dal, Ginger Powder, Turmeric, Lemon Grass Oil, Triphala powder, Arrow Root powder, Coconut Oil (Local), Red Gram,’ Green Gram, Maize, Groundnut, Kalajecra Rice, Turmeric, Tamarind, Red Chilly from ORMAS are exhibited in the exhibition. Five entrepreneurs selected by MSME Department are participating with their products and have received tremendous response on the opening day of the event itself. Prominent amongst the entrepreneurs are M/s Jay Bharat Spices (P) Ltd., a leading brand of spices in Odisha, M/s KASAM, Kandhamal a pioneer in Organic spice products like Turmeric, Honey, Ginger slice, powder, mustard, etc., M/s Sri Jagannath Cashew Cluster (P) Ltd. a consortium of cashew processing units of Ganjam District and M/s Sri Ganesh Cashewnut processing & Trading (P) Ltd. and M/s Jay Jagannath Cashew Processing Centre, Brahmagiri, Puri whose products have evinced a lot of interest.
After getting a good response from AgriTech India -2014 at Bengaluru, this is another initiative of Odisha Investment and Export Promotion Office (OIEPO) to bring the stakeholders of Food processing sector under one roof and maximise the scope of our products in national as well as international market. Amongst the officials from Government of Odisha, Dr. Tribikram Pradhan, Additional Resident Commissioner, Ms. Sucharita Sarangi, Officer on Special Duty from office of Principal Resident Commissioner, New Delhi Sri Partha Sarathi Mishra, Additional Secretary, MSME Department, Sri A.R.Panda, Deputy Director of Industries, Sri S.C.Satapathy, IPO, Pratap Ranjan Rout, Deputy Director, Fisheries(M), Sri Chakradhar Panda, Asst. Agriculture Officer, Sri Pravat Kumar Martha, Seed Pathologist are present in the pavilion to interact with the visitors and respond to the business queries of customers/entrepreneurs.
