Bhubaneswar: In a bid to help the families to rebuild their damaged houses affected by devastating Phailin and subsequent flood, POSCO India today has distributed consolation cheques of Rs 10,000 each to five families in the proposed project area.
Extending support to the natural calamity hit families in the proposed project area of Jagatsinghpur district, Mr. Y W Yoon, CMD, POSCO INDIA today handed over consolation cheques of Rs 10,000 each to five families whose houses were fully damaged due to the cyclone Phailin.
Panchanan Majhi of Gobindpur village, Ajay Kumar Das from Bhuiyanpala, Parikhita Bhuiyan, Dhaneswar Ojha and Nrusingha Sethi from Nuagaon were handed over cheques of Rs 10,000 each towards rebuilding and restoration of their damaged houses caused by recent cyclone and floods.
POSCO India senior officials were also present while handing over the cheques to the families.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities POSCO India has undertaken such initiatives to extend its helping hand towards the people of the proposed project area to restore themselves from the recent disaster.
It may be noted that POSCO INDIA has also contributed Rs. 1 Crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) towards restoration & Relief measure for the recent cyclone and subsequent flood-affected people in Odisha.
POSCO India has proposed to set up its mega steel project near Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha.
