New Delhi: Tata Motors today formally announced the launch of the new Tata Nano CNG emax. The Tata Nano CNG emax is powered by a fuel-efficient, state-of-the-art engine, with CNG and petrol bi-fuel system options. The car has the lowest carbon footprint of 75.6 g/km and is the most fuel-efficient car in India with a mileage of 36 km/kg. The Tata Nano CNG emax will now be available across CNG markets like Delhi, Gujarat, parts of Maharashtra and Lucknow.
Tata Motors showcased its emax range at the Horizonext event held in Pune in June 2013, with a commitment to launch its CNG range in a phased manner in FY14. The Nano CNG emax is the first of the five brands in the emax series of CNG cars.
Unveiling the Nano CNG emax at the launch ceremony, Ankush Arora, senior vice president, passenger vehicle business unit (commercial), Tata Motors, said, “At Tata Motors, the core philosophy behind the launch of every new vehicle is anticipating what our customers need and blending it with best-in-class technology and design engineering. This helps us arrive at an end product that suits the inherent automotive needs of our customers in a holistic way. From its inception, the Nano has been a path-breaking invention and the CNG version only adds to that and also underlines our commitment to be a sustainable automotive player.”
Tata Nano CNG emax, an eco-friendly car: The emax – CNG range takes Nano’s efficiency prowess even further. The Tata Nano CNG emax is India’s most fuel-efficient car with globally acclaimed CNG components installed. The sequential gas injection system of the Tata Nano CNG emax is thoroughly calibrated with an intelligent advanced engine management system for smart switching between CNG and gasoline fuel systems. This allows the vehicle to sense when the driver needs more power and thus, automatically shift to gasoline mode. Switching between CNG and petrol driving modes on-the-fly is effortless, thanks to a push-button fuel type selector. Additionally, the Tata Nano CNG emax can also be started on CNG and not on petrol like other conventional CNG systems. The new Tata Nano CNG emax comes with improved, lowest CO2 emission of just 75.6 g/km.
Excellence in design and technology: The Nano CNG emax comes with best-in-class air conditioning, turning radius, passenger space and comfort, and handsomely and stylishly appointed interiors, making it a superlative vehicle in the segment. The car is equipped with class-leading safety features like leak detection sensors and interlock sensor that automatically ensures that the engine is switched off during CNG gas filling.
The car’s CNG system is intelligently packaged for maximum luggage space and cylinders are smartly fitted under the front seats which do not intrude into passenger or luggage space — an innovation in this vehicle segment.
Efficient and economical: With CNG technology, the Nano CNG emax offers a touring range of more than 150km (in CNG), in addition to the existing touring range of 375km (in petrol), with best-in-class fuel economy of 36 km/kg and with a warranty of up to 60,000km or four years (whichever is earlier); the overall proposition results in lowest cost of ownership.
The Tata Nano CNG emax price range starts at Rs2.45 lakh, ex-showroom, Ahmedabad, for the Nano CX and goes up to Rs2.72 lakh, ex-showroom, Ahmedabad, for the Nano LX.
