Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has always been committed to the conservation and protection of the environment, in addition to undertaking several initiatives for the economic development of society. In line with this commitment, Industrial Energy Limited (IEL), a joint venture of Tata Power and Tata
Steel,organized a seminar on “CSR and Inclusive Growth” in collaboration with Odisha CSR
forum in Bhubaneswar.
The objective of this seminar was to learn and share the best practices in CSR initiatives with various stakeholders, in order to maximize positive impact on society. The programme addressed four important themes i.e. Role of CSR and its practices, Skill Development and Employability, Livelihood and Sustainability and Learning and Sharing. Representatives from NGO’s and organisations such as Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society, Government of Odisha, faculties from academic institutions and corporate leaders addressed the
gathering and shared their knowledge and experiences on several CSR practices.
The session showcased presentations on CSR initiatives of IEL, Tata Steel, Vedanta, JSPL, GMR, PPL,
UAIL, ACC Ltd. and many more. This was followed by a discussion wherein all stakeholders
participated with great enthusiasm and interest. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vijayant Ranjan, CEO-IEL & Chief Kalinganagar Station said, “We are delighted with the overwhelming response that we have received from all the
stakeholders in this seminar. We would like to thank all our participants and delegates for all the support in making this programme a huge success. IEL will continue to organize such programmes every year, to present best CSR practices in the industry, and help in the betterment of society and the environment.”
