Gopalpur: In an effort to create more entrepreneurs who, along with generating sustainable income for themselves, will create employment and be engines of growth for local economy, industry major Tata Steel has successfully conducted entrepreneurship development training of 44 persons from Brajanagar and TATA rehabilitation colony, under Chhatrapur block of Ganajm district. The month long training, organised in association with its rural development wing Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS), was facilitated by Ahmedabad based leading training institute International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (ICECD). The training was followed by a 10 days’ exposure visit to ICECD, Ahmedabad.
The Graduation Ceremony for distribution of certificates to the trainees was held today in the Senate Hall of Berhampur University.
Delivering the theme address in the ceremony Mr Arun Misra, Vice President, Tata Steel, Gopalpur Project congratulated the trainees for successful completion of the training and urged them to implement the knowledge gained on various alternate livelihood options, bank linkages and convergence opportunities here for starting their own enterprises. Encouraging two of the trainees Mr. Rabindra Panigrahi and Ms Runi Goud, who set up fast food restaurant and bangles business respectively with money arranged from their own sources, Mr. Misra advised others to embark upon innovative ventures that would make them employers in future thereby transforming their lives and society around them.
Complementing Tata Steel for the initiative Mr Pradipta Kumar Nanda, PD, DRDA, Ganjam, who graced the occasion, advised the trainees to make best use of the training imparted. Mr Sushanta Kumar Mishra, Chief, Gopalpur Project proposed a vote of thanks. The ceremony was graced by prominent dignitaries including Dr. Sudhansu Pati, senior advocate, Ganjam, Ms Hina Shah, Director and Mr. Vijay Bhupati, senior faculty, ICECD, media persons, trainees and local community leaders.
