We believe that technologies like Uber provide an incredible opportunity to improve road safety in new and innovative ways. Uber driver partners across the country are providing safe transportation to millions of people every day and many of you are even being awarded for maintaining high standards of safety. I encourage you all to continue this excellent service and contribute towards making Telangana an incident-free state.”
Speaking at the event, Deepak Reddy, GM Uber Hyderabad said, “We are pleased to recognise the best amongst the best every year. As we recognise the efforts of our driver partners who have consistently provided superior experience to our riders, we are equally focused on making driving with Uber a rewarding experience. With this event we wish to bring together our driver-partner community to inspire, encourage and celebrate those who move our cities.”
Committed to the safety of rider and driver partners, Uber recently announced several rider and driver focused safety initiatives, as a part of its UberSAFE campaign, highlighting the company’s continued commitment to safety during rides. These include a Share Trip feature for drivers, which will allow them to share the details of trip, including route and ETA, in real time with family or friends. Uber is also taking measures to check and de-duplicate driver partner accounts, a step forward in the company’s efforts to ensure the right person is behind the wheel and rider’s have a safe and reliable experience while on a ride.
New technology has enabled Uber to build safety into its service from beginning to end. With a huge focus on road safety, Uber is using telematics, a unique technological innovation that monitors and assesses driving patterns and helps provide feedback to driver partners. Through this technology Uber is able to share daily reports with partners on driving patterns, speed of the vehicle and reminds them to take breaks and keep the phone mounted while driving.
