Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed HPCL to set up Refinery in Rajasthan

1920063_738811016202480_6192956557738730690_nNew Delhi: The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply today that Oil production in the block RJ-ON-90/1 of Cairn Energy in the Barmer District of Rajasthan started in the year 2009-10. Since then Profit Petroleum amounting to Rs. 16,063 crores has been received by the Central Government. The amount of profit petroleum received by the Central Government is appropriated under the revenue receipts of the Government of India. The State Government receives royalty on the oil produced.

Government has accorded its approval on 20.09.2013 to the proposal of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to set up nine MMTPA Refinery-cum Petrochemical Complex in Barmer district of Rajasthan, in collaboration with Government of Rajasthan, at an estimated cost of Rs. 37,229.00 crore with a construction time frame of 48 months from receipt of all statutory clearances.
