Jharsuguda: The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Dept. of Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, initiated the celebrations for National Safety Week with Jharsuguda’s 1st District Level Safety March conducted in association with Dept. of Factories and Boilers. Mr Anil Kumar Nanda, Asst. Director – Dept. of Factories and Boilers, flagged off the march which saw a participation of more than 500 employees across organizations like UltraTech, OPGC, IOCL, TRL and SMC.
The safety march started at Hotel Vishnu Palace and culminated at Beheramal Chowk where all participants took the safety oath. Mr Nanda stressed that safety in all aspects of life, whether personal or professional, is core to the success of any society in terms of mitigating any kind of crisis. And hence everyone should come forward and don the responsibility of being safe. Eminent dignitaries of the state like Dist. Emergency Officer Mr S Kishan and Dist. Fire Officer Mr Subhasis Muduli were present at the event. In their respective addresses, both of them stressed on the importance of adopting world class safety best practices to reduce accidents in industries. In his address, Mr Cho Yiu Chan, Head HSE – Vedanta Ltd., drew upon his years of experience and expertise in the field and gave safety tips to members of participating organizations, and thanked everyone present for their commitment to improving the safety awareness both inside and outside the organization.
