New Delhi: Vistara, India’s fastest growing full service carrier that is setting new service and customer experience standards, announces the addition of Chandigarh to its rapidly expanding network effective May 2, 2016. With this route launch, Vistara’s network will cover 16 destinations across India. Chandigarh, considered one of the best-planned cities in India with world renowned architecture, is Vistara’s sixth destination in North India after Jammu, Srinagar, Delhi, Lucknow and Varanasi.
The daily service will directly connect Chandigarh to both Delhi and Hyderabad (with same aircraft service between Chandigarh and Hyderabad via Delhi), and will also offer convenient connections via Delhi between Chandigarh and Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar and Ahmedabad. Flights are open for sale on all direct and indirect channels, including our website, mobile app, airport ticket offices and our travel partners.
As the capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana, the Union Territory of Chandigarh is one of the India’s most modern and well developed cities, and has been selected as one of the Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship Smart Cities Mission. A new state-of-the-art airport terminal recently opened at Chandigarh Airport in Mohali, will help drive even more business and tourism to Chandigarh and surrounding towns. Chandigarh is also the base for travel to scenic spots in the Himalayas such a Shimla, Manali, Kasauli and many other picturesque hill stations.
Speaking on the launch of its new destination, Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO, Vistara, said, “Chandigarh is a key market in North India, and a base for significant business and tourism in the region and we are glad to connect to this beautiful city. The city showcases immense potential as its proximity to mountains, robust infrastructure, growing business prospective and good quality of life, ultimately attracts more tourists and premium segment travellers. Not only will we connect Chandigarh directly to Delhi and Hyderabad and to five other cities domestically, international traffic from the city will also be connected via our hub at T3 Delhi making it a convenient connection for them to travel overseas, even through our interline partnerships with 12 international airlines. Customers on this route will enjoy the ‘new feeling’ and world class travel experience that Vistara is already known for.”
This latest addition to Vistara’s network reflects the airline’s phase of growth with a focus on scaling up operations and strengthening the value proposition to suit customers’ demand. The month of April will also see Vistara launch services to Srinagar, Jammu, and Kochi. With addition of these services the total number of weekly flights offered by the airline will increase to around 400 and further reiterate the airline’s commitment to Indian market. With plans of further popularising its offerings, Vistara has recently inaugurated their signature lounge at T3 at Delhi International Airport providing a truly world class experience to its customers.
